I am beyond thrilled to have the support of these two devoted public servants who are intimately aware of the realities and challenges facing our community in terms of education, economic development, and workforce needs.
Senator Michael Dembrow (District 23) is no stranger to PCC. Dembrow is an English instructor at PCC’s Cascade campus in North Portland and has taught at PCC since 1981. He also served as President of the PCC faculty union for 16 years! In the legislature, Dembrow is the Chair of the Senate Workforce Committee and serves on the Oregon Workforce Investment Board and the Oregon Youth Conservation Corps Advisory Committee, among others.
Representative Alissa Keny-Guyer (HD 46) has served in the Oregon Legislature since 2011. Keny-Guyer is a staunch advocate for investing in our youth, and for quality public education from early childhood programs through college. Her other issues include public health, protecting the environment, and reducing economic disparities. Keny-Guyer is the Chair of the House Committee on Human Services and Housing and is a member of the House Committee on Early Childhood and Family Supports, as well as the House Committee on Health Care.
Thank you Sen. Dembrow and Rep. Keny-Guyer!!
