I spent this past weekend getting the word out about my campaign, first in Washington County and then in SW Portland.
Saturday afternoon I had the pleasure of visiting the Washington County Democrats annual SpringFest Brunch, and heard from Congresswoman Suzanne Bonamici on the fight for sanctuary status and other important issues pertaining to education and our community. Thank you to Jaime Rodriguez for inviting me and to the Portland Community College Federation of Faculty and Academic Professionals for their sponsorship. It was a pleasure to meet other local candidates including Mohamed Alyajouri, who was recently appointed to the PCC Board for Zone 6 and who is now running for election to that position.
Later in the weekend, my friend Adam, a fellow veteran who attended PCC after serving in the Marine Corps, came over to help with my campaign. We met at PCC in 2005 and we later went on to graduate from Portland State together. The friendship that began at PCC is stronger than ever today and it was awesome to have him helping me canvass door-to-door this weekend. The Army can never go wrong when we travel with Marines!
Everyone I talk to is really excited about my candidacy and vision for PCC. The key is to connect with as many Zone 5 voters in SW Portland and the eastern half of Beaverton as possible before the election. Can you help? All volunteers are much appreciated! And every donation helps a ton!!!
Thank you and I'll see you next time I'm out and about knocking on doors!
